Acceptable use policy

Bugwatch sends requests to the internet, rings phones and sends email on your behalf. These rules keep that safe for everyone else.

Last updated 2026-10-02

Monitor what you are responsible for

  • Point uptime checks only at systems you operate or have permission to test.
  • Do not use checks to load-test, flood or probe systems, or to reach anything you could not reach yourself.

Notify only people who agreed

  • Add only email addresses, phone numbers and webhooks that belong to you or to people who agreed to receive alerts. New email addresses confirm by link and new phone numbers by pressing 1 on a call, and those limits are there for a reason.
  • Do not use alerts, status pages or subscriptions to send marketing, spam or harassment.

Send only data you are entitled to send

  • Do not deliberately send payment card data, government identifiers, health data or other special categories of personal data. Scrubbing is a safety net, not a way to process them.
  • Do not send content that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights.

Respect the service

  • Do not get around quotas, rate limits or plan limits, for example by opening several Free organizations for one workload.
  • Do not attack, overload or scan the service. To test its security, follow our security.txt and report findings to security@bugwatch.io.
  • Do not use the API, MCP server or agents to reach data that belongs to an organization you are not a member of.
  • Do not resell the service as your own without our written agreement.

Enforcement

We may remove content, disable a check, channel or token, or suspend an organization that breaks these rules. Where it is safe to do so, we tell you first. To report abuse, write to support@bugwatch.io.
